1. In the movie, the FBI are portrayed as the "bitch" agency staffed by naive incompetents, while the CIA/DoD are portrayed as the "big boys." In reality, the FBI helped get their favored candidate (Trump) elected, while the DoD was silent and the CIA got made fun of by the president-elect.

2. In the movie, ultimate power is portrayed as being in the hands of "people who are elected, not appointed." In reality, the head of FBI disobeyed his superiors and just did whatever he wanted. The appointed people got the upper hand on the elected people.

Pretty minor points seemingly, but given the "depth" and "reality" this movie purports to, not really.

Where does this movie try to "depict" reality? You need to watch again. Maybe with brutal violence it's "realistic", but this film DOES NOT accurately depict the inner workings of the FBI and CIA. Something happened within Washington DC, and they state this, the boundaries have grown/changed - So the FBI/CIA we are seeing is NOT realistic because this film is fictional, and the state the USA is in is not completely accurate to our own. It's grounded enough, but it is still fiction.
