This movie was meh.....

i don't need tons of creature moments or tons of action but this movie was WAY too talky. the trailer makes it seem like it has much more horror elements to it than it actually does. good cast, beautiful locations but overall kind of a disappointment. there's like 2 actual creature moments in the film.

Eh it's more of romance/drama with little bits of Lovecraftian horror here and there, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. These types of films usually aren't my thing, but it easily puts the Twilight movies to shame which I know isn't exactly hard to do. I thought the two leads were fantastic, and the chemistry between them was great, and made it pretty engaging. The movie is pretty damn funny at times too. Sadly, there aren't a lot of creature scenes though, but it honestly didn't bother me as much I expected. I was satisfied with what we did get which was well done for the most part, although the dodgey CGI was on full display.

Also, I just can't get that last shot out of my mind. That was the perfect way to end it IMO.

This was a solid 7/10 for me.

I really loved it. I've not seen the trailer but it sounds like it was misleading as is often the case. The film isn't trying to be a horror and isn't really a creature feature, it's basically just a supernatural romance with a cool concept.

I thought the pace was slow, and started to get bored about 3/4 of the way through.

I couldn't get past the absurdity of the whole premise. I really wanted to like the movie, but just couldn't :(

Yeah it lost me when they started talking all scientific about stem cells embrios and creatures of our evolutionary past
