Similar dark romance films like Let the Right One In (spare yourself from the US remake), Thirst, Hideaways, and Warm Bodies come to mind. If you don't know them you should probably give them a try.
sharesaw all of them.. warm bodies was disappointment..thirst is a Korean gem of genre as let the right one in is of Sweden.
shareYou might want to check out Ginger Snaps Back. It's on the line of movies like Thirst and Let The Right One In.
shareactually, in my opinion, the original Ginger Snaps is much better and much more stand in line with those movies.
shareI love Ginger Snaps, it was hilarious and scary. I liked, not loved, the sequels.
I have to second The Hunger - very similar dark atmosphere (though I felt like the end of Spring was pretty positive).
They're coming to get you, Barbara!
Also Under the Skin (2013) and Near Dark (1987) only two I can think of to add to maximus' list. First one is clearly not as good as Spring though....
I don't know if American werewolf should be considered here, but it has horror and it has romance + traveling :D
A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night.
yeah, that is a good one. was waiting for it. saw immediately when it was out.
shareIf you like that then you should definitely watch Michael Almereyda's amazing Nadja.
shareI second the recommendation for Nadja. I haven't seen it in like 20 years and it doesn't seem to be out on bluray but it is a perfect example of this genre. It stuck with me for years.
shareCrimson Peak is another romance/horror movie that was done well. I also agree with a few others that were mentioned. Horns, These Final Hours, and It Follows are all excellent. Also, if you haven't seen it - check out The Host. (Korean film from 2006) terrific film and if you enjoyed Spring, you would love The Host.
shareOnly Lovers Left Alive(2013) is a great Romance with Horror elements and reminded me of this movie. And I second Let the Right One In, although I liked the remake slightly better.
shareAn American Werewolf in Paris (1997)
shareno one suggested "Kiss of the damned"?
as played out as vampires are, that film captures some great horror-love emotions.
I sort of hate current trends with zombies and vampires, but Kiss of the damned gives me hope in the genre

I'm sure you've seen Blood and Chocolate.
