If they gave away that much in the first trailer, we'll know the entire

..movie by the second or third.

Most movie trailers today are horrible. They spoil much of the movie. This one is no different.

I agree, back in the day a trailer was maybe 30 seconds or so, these days they're pushing 3 minutes. Miss the good old days.

This isn't a recent trend. Trailers have been going too far for decades.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCN5JJY_wiA
Westworld (1973): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcL3eP0Hfy4
Chinatown (1974): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T37QkBc4IGY
Carrie (1976): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSF6WVx_Tdo
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCVh4lBfW-c
Cast Away (2000): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJvosb4UCLs

Even the shorter ones there contain huge spoilers.

They threw a bunch of scenes with no context together, what exactly do "we" know that spoils the whole movie?

It's possible Optimus was brainwashed into Nemesis Prime, and tries to kill his fellow Autobots. And either Unicron or Primus show up. But these are just theories.

We didn't need the trailer to figure out the sword Excalibur is probably the Star Saber.
