Even though he is not coming back but i wonder if he might be mentioned this time around.

Didn't they somewhat mention him in the 4th movie? I honestly can't remember, I just know they didn't say his name in it though.

I don't believe any of the human characters were mentioned. A loose reboot. I think they went out of their way to avoid mentioning them. Obviously not the case with this new one.

If Cemetary Wind had been looking for Autobots, you'd assume they would have paid Sam and his family a visit. The whole Witwicky clan is probably buried in a shallow grave somewhere.

I'm surprised this thread isn't making reference to the line Anthony Hopkins says in the trailer that is a quote stated in the first movie by Sam and his family.
Anyway, maybe, maybe not he wasn't mentioned at all in the last one.
