why doesn't bay remove humans altogether?

the little bit of machine on machine action in every transformers movie makes me wanna grab him by the collar and spit-yell on his face "why the f&^% don't you remove humans altogether and set the stories on cybertron or space". The last 2 seconds of the trailer where prime and bee are fighting - is the only bit that makes the trailer worth it! And this is the running problem with the series.

That's the problem with Bay. To him the robots are just set pieces instead of being real characters hence the overemphasis on poorly written humans.

You need a director who understands with proper writing, the bots can carry the film without the need of humans. Also helps if the director has some respect for the Cybertronian characters, but not this moron.

Unfortunately he knows that this is the only franchise that can line his pockets, which is the reason he keeps coming back despite claiming each film will be his last.

This will be the only comment or reply you'll get. Like I give a sh!t about YOUR interwebz opinion.

No, the problem is that you stupid fanboys are too childish to comprehend the simple concept of cost and resources. You think Michael Bay has the power to just make a film devoted entirely to the robots? Are you even aware of the fact that ILM burn out their computers every time they make one of these movies? Do you even know the amount of effort and time ILM puts into the screen time that they already have? Are you aware that ILM's rates go up with each movie? You're never going to get a live-action Transformers movie with just robots, Doesn't matter who's directing it.

You want a movie devoted entirely on Transformers? Then wait for the low budget, animated film that'll be coming out in a few years.

reply

dont agree at all. These transformers have so much background story to them. It makes me want to see an all out Transformers movie even more!

reply

Because Bay is not making that kind of story. The kind of CGI in Transformers have also destroyed at least one computer and a whole movie of them would be disastrous. If there's a movie set on Cybertron, like Hasbro is planning, it will not be a Bay movie.

reply

Most iterations of the brand feature humans interacting with the robots. If it makes you feel any better though they are planning a fully animated spin-off set entirely on Cybertron.

Difference between remove humans altogether VS remove irritating humans characters altogether, I much prefer human characters in my TF movies you want non live human features... then there's always finding doty.

reply

Shia was the most irritating person.

Focusing too much on the robots would cost more. Human characters, product placement, and constantly making Earth the center of the universe keeps the cost down.

You mean focus on Transformers in a Transformers movie... Blasphemy!!

I don't have any issues with humans in these films, they just need to be the right ones.

While i understand your concern regarding more inter-transformer action and reduced human characters , the problem really lies with the director here . Mr Bay does not seem to think that his target audience is intelligent . I am a big fan of the Bay who have us the Bad Boys movies and The Rock but he's simply destroyed the Transformers franchise . He seems to be thoroughly convinced that pandering to the lowest common denominator ( read : testosterone-fueled young males looking for guns, explosions and the usual T&A ) will yield him maximum results .

So what does he do ? . He inserts a ton of uninteresting human characters & dumb, racist humor while also packing in a couple of voyeuristic shots of teenage girls' assets . This is lazy film making at its worst and even the most rabid fans of the man will agree that he could skip on most of those parts or at least put some effort in making them interesting . Something what comes so easily to James Cameron or Paul verhoeven .

Coz i don't see anyone complaining about lack of eye-grabbing action in the Terminator series or Starship Troopers . In an alternative universe , i can already see Cameron or Verhoeven delivering a kick-ass Transformers movie with both critics and movie-goers applauding. But this is the world we live in....
