I really hope the female lead in this (15-year-old Isabela Moner) isn't just thrown into this movie to be an object of lust for the audience, much like Megan Fox, Rosie Huntington Whitely and Nicola Peltz were in the first 4 movies. Mainly because she isn't legally old enough to be portrayed that way (she was probably only 14 when they filmed the movie) and doing so would only be enabling pedophiles and deviants. But it's also partly because these movies are shameful in how they treat their female characters, who do absolutely nothing useful and whose only purpose is to wear skimpy outfits and be pretty. The only exception is the Australian girl in the first movie who figures out the hack in the system.
Someone tell me, is it illegal for Michael Bay to sexualize her and make her wear revealing clothing in this movie and throw her in a pathetic love story with a much older man like the last movie did? Because if they do then that's a new low.
Film is a transition of thoughts and ideas to the screen. To make sexualization of an adolescent girl, illegal, would not only be a violation of the First Amendment, it would also be a ridiculous denial of natural reality.
If Michael Bay wants to film a clearly-physically-maturing girl in a way that's pleasing to the senses, he should have every right to do so, and he shouldn't be stopped by some age number.
Go ahead, show me a law that says he's not allowed to do so.
Alicia Silverstone was 15 when she starred in "The Crush", and she was heavily sexualized in that movie, which was relevant to the plot, of course, since her character was trying to seduce a man twice her age.
Then there's Thora Birch, who was also 15 when she filmed that topless scene in "American Beauty".
And Drew Barrymore was 17 when she filmed "Doppleganger", playing a heavily sexualized character by dancing erotically, being naked, and wearing sheer dresses revealing her underwear to seduce. Not to mention she actually simulates sex with her male co-star.
He did that in AOE with Nicola Peltz. It was meant to be a joke involving Shane and a Romeo/Juliet law, but it was so awkward it didn't work out.
The girl in this film, Isabella, is far too young and she's more an action girl in the middle of the Transformers war. So don't worry, it's not happening here.
07/08/06... 786... the sentinel of Allah has arrived.
Nicola Peltz was 18 when she shot the movie. Isabelle is 15, he couldn't get away with it even if he wanted to. Besides, Isabella is a dirty tom-boy in this movie, so there's no chance of sexualizing her.
Lindsay Lohan was 17 when she filmed Mean Girls. Her character Cady Heron was supposed to be 16 and she was sexualized many times in that movie: From being a sexy Santa's helper on stage, to dressing like a sexy maid to impress Aaron Samuels, to just simply walking around dressed in a revealing top and miniskirt under her "plastics" persona.
But it's also partly because these movies are shameful in how they treat their female characters, who do absolutely nothing useful and whose only purpose is to wear skimpy outfits and be pretty.
Wrong, Mikeala Banes saved Sam from Frenzy and she's the one who got Bumblebee out of danger and then drove him into battle to save a group of soldiers. Carly Spencer was the one who informed Sam and the Autobots where the control pillar was and she's the one who manipulated Megatron into attacking Sentinal Prime, thus saving Optimus' life. Su Yueming was the one who got Joshua Joyce out of the KSI facility and protected him from Cemetery Wind. Tessa Yeager was the one who bravely told Bumblebee to turn around so she could go back and rescue her father. Because of her, Cade and Optimus are still alive, and Lockdown is defeated. Just because the girls in the Transformers movies aren't Black Widow or Imperator Furiosa, doesn't mean they don't actively participate.

I certainly hope that's not the route they go. We already know Michael Bay's a pervert, but I'm sure he's way above objectifying a 15-year-old kid. At least I hope.
Logan, buddy. It's me, Deadpool! I shot youuuuuu....
The real question is why you see a 14 or 15 year old girl, and immediately think about her in a sexual way. Take a look in a mirror before you pass judgement.
I really don't think Michael Bay has that in mind. These films are after all based on kids' toys, so people should stop taking Isabela's casting so perversely. I bet no one would be so riled up if the character was a boy.
I can only hope Izabella and Cade will develop a surrogate father/daughter relationship. That is what I hoped AGE OF EXTINCTION was going to explore, but instead it got sidelined, and a boyfriend was shoved in for another tacky, boring love story.
These films do not need a cliched "pretty woman" for the fans to gawk at. But if there is one, I assume it'll be actress Laura Haddock.
