The original thread diligently explained "The original was a tit fest.", i do that take that sincerely and respectably. It was a blokes film, exploding cars, massive brawls, a bit of madness and sexy girls with massive hooters.

If they remake the original from 1989 ever again in another 35 years from now, it will likely be drag queens by then.
Yet in the 2024 movie, they can actually fight. I love Patrick Swayze, but he was very unbelievable as a fighter with those sloppy kicks.
shareWhat? Dude was legit. Also him and Teague were actually going full-contact to everywhere but the face. Swayze had multiple cracked ribs after that fight, and gained huge respect from Teague and the boys in the kickboxing community he frequented for manning up and taking the fight to Teague.
shareIDK, fight scenes look ridiculous in the original movie, with sloppy techniques.
shareSwayze looked pretty good most of the time; the "sloppy" stuff in the final fight with Teague was because they had been filming all night long, and he was legitimately tired.
Unlike the new film they didn't have CGI and super-imposition to hide the filming tactics for the old one. It was all good old fashioned practical set pieces and real life choreography.

shareThe whole point of the original with Patrick Swayze was knowing their sex appeal. Women fancied him and the guys watching had the babes. Now it is so watered down and reversed, which we think is on purpose. I get the joke of McGregor ass crack, he cannot park a vehicle. The film had the murder revenge with not being able to be broken. It is just the women, in particular the sexiness were deeply rooted in the film.
