Pretty good documentary

I think these 2 boys should get outta the slammer

Just saw this, I agree. This doc made me watch the Netflix series and every video on them I could find.

So what do you think vicky_lc......

Spoiled rotten monsters that killed their parents because they were about to be cut out of The Will - this being a potential 14 million dollar loss.

or

Innocent abuse victims. They killed their parents out of fear, thinking their parents were about to kill them because Erik had told Lyle about the continuing sexual abuse by the Father.

WHich story do you think is the truth????

reply

The former

They were a couple of party boys. I think being cut out of the will was the primary motivator.

They were afraid their mom was going to kill them because one brother told the other he'd been abused? I don't think so. It was the money (I haven't seen any of these new shows trying to convince people they are innocent, just going by my memory of the case).

I think killing their mother makes a lot more sense with the inheritance as the motive.

Cut out of the will for what reason? Their father was an abusive, controlling, manipulative, evil creep. There’s more to this story than we know. There’s proof of the abuse, including pictures that were taken of the boys, nude, in the bathtub with erections. They found Vaseline (Jose’s go-to rape product) at the crime scene. Their stories of the abuse were extremely detailed and never changed. Now other victims of Jose are coming forward. After Lyle threatened to expose Jose, Jose threatened both of them. He probably cut them out of the will out of spite about something else. He was just that manipulative. I really don’t blame them for living it up for awhile on Jose’s dime, it’s literally all he was good for. Ultimately Erik couldn’t keep the guilt from eating away at him and that is why they were finally caught. I suggest anyone to go watch the old trial footage. You can’t fake that. Even the best actors can’t fake that.

Their dad was a monster, I believe that. If they had only killed him, I'd have a different opinion.

What's your opinion on them murdering the enabler mother? My main issue is that she wouldn't have been a threat to them, especially with dad out of the way.

They had valid reasons to hate their parents. Then, those monstrous parents are threatening to cut them out of the will. I think all those things were part of the equation that lead them to decide on murder.
If they got out it wouldn't be the worst injustice I've heard of. If the gov decided they've done enough time, I won't be bothered about it. It's not a case like say, Dominique Dunne's. That one still makes my blood boil a little bit when I think about it.

Just wanted to let Zarkoff know, as it happens -

I'm on board with you.

They killed BOTH parents, I repeat BOTH - for one reason and one reason only - $. It's that simple.

And forget about the sexual abuse, it's concocted nonsense. I do however believe Jose was brutal on both of his sons. He had to be, look what this guy accomplished. To do what he did you'd have to be a bad as^%$# ruthless, hard working, no nonsense kind of person. I'm sure he expected the same kind of excellence out of his sons. Unfortunately for Lyle and Erik, they couldn't live up to his expectations (actually probably no one could). But even having said this - take a step back and look at it - look at the timing. It makes perfect sense - the parents had had it with both sons. The brothers getting caught robbing local houses was pretty much the final straw. There is either one of two possibilities, the threat to remove Erik and Lyle from the Will was just that - a threat. It's possible the parents were using this to see if their sons would shape up. Or, maybe they sincerely were going to remove them. Whatever the case may be, Lyle and Erik found out. They weren't going for that, hence the quick plan to kill BOTH parents. WHich they did.

Occam's Razor will lead you to this conclusion.

PS - I don't care if they get out either. But if they do, it will be a political thing - it won't be because of their absurd story.

I 100% agree with you.

They saw the mother and father as 1 unit. Erik thought he was protecti g his mother until he found out she knew all along, and at that moment, he felt she betrayed him. Lyle knew she knew though because an older cousin he confessed to when he was 8 told her and she dismissed it. She and Lyle also had sexual relations until he was 12.

I highly recommend the Law & Order series, infinitely better and more accurate than the Netflix show.

reply

"1 unit". Nonsense. They are claiming self defense, and the mother wasn't a threat. Failing to protect them from the abusive father is a reason to have anger and resentment. Killing her over it is revenge, not self defense.

reply

That is what they said whether you believe it or not. She also collected guns and threatened to poison them, the entire family. She also sexually molested Lyle from 11-13. So if all of that isn't a threat to you, I guess we know who nd what you are.

reply

According to the brothers, the murderers. I don't believe for a second she was threatening to wipe out the entire family.

reply

What makes you think they were party boys? From friends, teachers, coaches, doctors, neighbors, relatives description, Erik was very shy, introverted and insecure, while Lyle didn't do drugs, rarely drank, didn't party and even came home early from his prom. Both were very disciplined with their tennis, woke up early, and drilled day and night.

reply

Latter for me although I'm not an American and I realize a lot of Americans can relate and sympathize with the parents more.
