Thought this was better than the first film

The first film had lots of shocks and gores but plotwise, I think this film was better than the first one.
It had genuine questions to ask to its viewers and had neat philosophical yarn to its core.
Thought the action was better (although I would have loved to see more of Miki and Goto's battle against SAT squad) than the first too.

Kind of bummed that Kunimura Jun's character didn't do anything.
However, Migi was a lot funnier in this film and Ryoko Tamiya was a great character.

The sex scene sucked and so out of place but I guess it was there since it was in the manga (and who wouldn't love to see some Ai Hashimoto skin?).

For a live-action (+CGI) adaptation of manga made in Japan, this is pretty good.
Certainly better than Gantz, Attack on Titan, 20th Century Boys, Kaiji.
Not as good as Ruroni Kenshin and Death Note.
7/10 for me.

i've never even heard of this movie (or the first film) until a few days ago and i just watched them both and i freaking love them! everything from the acting, to the music score to CGI/fx, etc, etc was excellent. i gave them both a 9 out of 10 stars.

I must disagree, the melodrama was increased in this one and it didn't have many surprises to offer (I have not seen the manga btw)
