Anybody know why
Anybody know why Carlos Madrigal's skin doesn't burn in the sun like the other vampire/snake calubras?
Maybe they said but I missed it I guess.

I'm rewatching the series now, I'll let you know if I catch anything.
shareSomewhere in season 2 I think I heard Carlos say something about not wanting to stay in the light too long when I was rewatching it.
But I recall when he was at the border crossing he was in direct sunlight and had no burning skin problems. Other Calubras (sp?) skin begins burning almost immediately. So I am wondering if he gained some special power somehow.
Thanks for watching out for this for me.
No problem :) unfortunately I already passed that episode before seeing your response. I wonder if it could do something with the fact that he did that thing where they disguise themselves as other people? Maybe that allows them to be in sunlight? Or, unless I'm mistaken, wasn't he wearing a hat? Perhaps that kept most of the sunlight off of him. It seems that they can go in light as long as they cover up/stay in the shadows.
shareI wondered about that. But I think he also appeared as himself in the sunlight. I recall him wearing his hat when he walked through the border crossing gate during the shootout. I will have to watch it again to see if he also appeared without his hat.

Yeah I think it's a definite possibility that the writers were just sort of lazy with that plot point. At the end of season 3 Richie acted like it was more of an inconvenience than a death threat, while Rafa burnt almost immediately after going in the sun in season 2. I'm sure the writers have their own set of rules, but I think it's absolutely possible they were just lazy with it and messed up the continuity.
shareThat always bugged me, because in episode 2 we see his hang smoking up in the sun, but then by episode 5 he is walking in the sun and isn't affected at all. By season 3, they have Richie say that he can *control* not burning up for a short time in the sun, but still does eventually. So I guess that was an rule that it took them three seasons to state.
