Worst Film of 2015

Ever since the first trailer came out, I was very trepidacious about the film and then after finally watching it, it is an absolute stinker. However, I did have some hope as I have enjoyed everything that Joe Wright has directed and with a cast including Hugh Jackman and Rooney Mara, two of the best actors currently working in Hollywood. How could this have been so bad?! The film feels like an awful pantomime, it is visually disgusting and features awful performances from pretty much everyone in the film, in particular newcomer Levi Miller who I hope never gets work again and Garrett Hedlund as Hook. The story is completely incomprehensible and John Powell’s score is an absolute headache. A complete disaster and an embarassment for all involved.

I disagree with most of your points. I do agree that Mr. Hedland's acting was rather bad. I also was disgusted that the script totally ripped off Indiana Jones and Han Solo. Some of the lines were even essentially the same. Unfortunately for this film, the actor delivering those lines was a second rate replica of the original. I cringed every time he spoke. I thought Pan was played very well, and I really enjoyed Tiger Lily. The visuals were fun, and the story was interesting. I would give it a 7/10. Had Hook's acting been better, I would give it a 9/10.

So, you had "a feeling of fear or agitation about something that may happen" when you considered the release of "Pan"? Pretty bush league.

"FilmMeister" my butt. You are just a hack who is so full of your own opinions that you flood the IMDb discussion boards with what YOU think are the worst movies.

But your intent is clear, you just want to get many hits on your websites.

Begone parasite!!

Right, let's sort you out.

Why do my opinions bother you? If you're not interested, then don't read it. SIMPLE! You are under no obligation to read my article, so why do you feel the need to call me a "hack"?!

If people didn't want to read others' opinions, then what would be the point in film criticism? I'm certainly interested in film criticism, hearing what others think of films as it adds to a long-standing debate and you are able to pick up on different viewpoints and see what others found fulfilling in a film that you did / did not find. What would be the point of film criticism if no one was interested?

Now I will get some hits if people decide to read my article, but I don't write my reviews and articles for myself to read, I write them so that those who are interested can read them. It's their choice whether they choose to or not.

Clearly you aren't interested and I'm absolutely fine with that, but what I'm not fine with is your attempts to degrade me with your childish antics.

And just so you know, I AM expecting a reply from you. You went quiet on the other board you tried to have a go at me on and it hasn't gone unnoticed.

You remind me of those panhandlers who stand at traffic lights, walking among the cars carrying a "Will work for food" sign, not really intending to work, just wanting a handout. Just like you, they take advantage of the point that people are there anyway so why not try to hit them up for something. Begging for attention, and money.

The Film Meister gives your response a 1/5.

Firstly, that didn't even make any sense nor relevant to what I replied to you. Secondly, where do you even live?! There is nowhere where I live where "panhandlers", whatever they are, exist.

You're also rather hypocritical - why do you think anyone wants to read YOUR 3,945 reviews? Do YOU want "hits" or "money"?

Ha-ha, silly guy, I write my reviews for myself, sort of like a diary of movies I have seen, I don't care if nobody else reads them. Just like any diary.

OTOH, you seem to crave attention, wanting others to go to your website.

Your reviews are designed to feature sometimes when people scroll through the page.

Mine is more of a diary too, if I was really that bothered with "craving attention", I would have made a Facebook page, created ad's etc... So just give it a rest

Rooney Mara was an amazing Tiger Lily and the rest was decent, I give it 7/10

Looks like it was expense to make, but must have been written by monkeys. What a mess!

Fantastic Four(2015) gets my vote for worst of 2015, just a total, dreary bore fest that took Marvel's first family and turned it into a low-rent David Cronenberg wannabe sci-fi thriller, what they did to Doctor Doom...Good lord.

Pan was a serious let down, I agree, but for all its faults( and boy there were many) at least I didn't feel bored with it and some of the visuals looked interesting and not too shabby on an HD TV, Fantastic Four has nothing going for it, NONE.

The fact that Malekith looked like Heath Ledger's Joker in comparison should tell you everything.

I also liked John Powell's soundtrack. Seriously, 'Fant4stic' had boring soundtrack, which I don't blame Marco Beltrami or Philip Glass for. They probably found the film too boring and tried to make the best out of it.

Seriously, even 'Dragonball Evolution' had a better soundtrack than that.

reply

Interesting you think that - I was bored the entire way through 'Pan' and at times it was embarrassing and cringeworthy. However, I have to disagree with you on 'Fantastic Four'. The last 30 minutes is terrible, I agree, but in particular the first half of the film showed a lot of promise and I genuinely think that Josh Trank's original 140 minute cut could have a lot going for it if Fox didn't step in and reshoot it. I agree with you though that Dr Doom was awful.
