the NFL's solution might be

to make every player sign waivers that basically state that CTE could happen through playing football and how much do you want to bet that most football players will probably sign the waiver to earn Millions in wages. There usually is risk in everything we do, but I guess this might be a calculated risk meaning players will weigh Health Risk VS Wealth. Money does rule over everything in the end.

What of the aspiring professionals in colleges and schools? How many times will they have clashed heads in the scrabble to get signed up for selling breakfast cereals and cars in the ad breaks? Does the NFL control school sport in the USA?

reply

your point being?

Major sports do mostly control and influence junior players. Like NCAA for example.

reply

NFL didn't cause CTE, football did. Only thing you can do is increase awareness and keep parents from letting their kids from participating.

reply

ummm. what you said there does not make any sense. NFL is called the National FOOTBALL league for a reason. Physical contact in sports will always occur, CTE can be prevented with science like new headbands that minimizes the brain shakes. The bottom line is Football has risks just like hockey players wear razor sharp skates that can slice a jugular vein. So better parenting is NOT the answer.

reply

There's dangers in other sports but the incidents are very few and far between. In football there are repeated collisions, it is common and expected. You can see how many people died during this short time period because of repeated trauma to the brain. There is no prevention for this other than to just not play. They may reduce your chances but it's not enough.

I totally agree with you Let each player decide to take the chance to risk their life. I TOTALLY BLAME THE NFL, COLLEGE ORGANIZATIONS, HIGH SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONS, AND LITTLE LEAGUE ORGANIZATIONS.
