Somewhat depressing to see Joanne Whalley looking so old

Wow! I guess it's been a while since i've seen her in anything. I didn't even recognize her at first. Being a 90s kid I'm old enough to remember when she was still a fresh faced beauty. Loved her in Willow. It's good to see she's still getting work in any case.

Well it's nice to know that she hasn't had her face pulled and stitched beyond all sense. I personally admire her for not taking hte plastic surgery route. She was also perfect for this part.

I did notice from what i can tell at least, that she appears to have had little to no work done like you see with most aging actresses. I suppose when you factor that in she doesn't look bad for a woman pushing 60.

When you look at the ones of her age who have destroyed their faces like Melanie Griffith, Donatella Versace, Suzanne Somers, Priscilla Presley, Joan Van Ark, it's so nice to see someone settling into their age like Joanne has. I mean at least I knew who she was. A lot of these actresses who destroy their faces you can't tell who they are anymore.

Whalley is a very good looking elder lady. Took me awhile to twig to her identity but I only checked because she was registering on my sex appeal gauge. I was thinking "why is this nun giving off slight meow to me?"

reply

Me too!

I didn't realize it was her til three eps in and her name jumped out at me from the credits. I remember her mostly from that old movie Scandal back when she was married to Val Kilmer.

According to IMDB she's worked pretty consistently over the decades.

I thought she looked pretty good considering she looks authentic. It took me a few minutes to place her but I did recognize her.
This happens to me fairly frequently with aging actors I haven't seen in a while...some notable examples would be Harry Hamlin on Mad Men and Steven Baeur (Scarface) on Breaking Bad. I was surprised when I learned who they were.
Time waits for no one.
