So I stumbled across an interview with Mike Colter on Facebook Live and amongst the many guest stars to show up was Finn Jones. He said he was currently filming the finale, and wouldn't you know it he still looked all scruffy and homeless with that beard. Dammit, not what I want to see for this character.
shareIt's possible they filmed scenes with him clean shaven at first for whatever reason (movies and TV shows are often filmed out of order), then filmed all the beardy stuff later. Or he could have grown his beard back after filming was complete.
shareI hate it too. I suspect part of the reason for him sporting it is to help the stuntmen sub for him more easily - a fake beard and wig will help conceal the stuntman's face, and least in longshots.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled with Finn Jones 'look' as Danny Rand. The curly hair light brown hair (instead of straight blond hair), the scruffy beard (instead of clean shaven), the shirtless scene where it looks like he has never lifted a weight in his life. He doesn't fit my visual image of Danny Rand.
However, I'm not one to get too hung up on the 'look' of characters, so if does a great job acting, I can look past the physical appearance. I wasn't thrilled with Jon Bernthal as the Punisher or Charlie Cox as Daredevil either (I was worried both of them were too small and Cox didn't have the signature red hair), but they won me over with their acting. Hopefully Jones can do the same.
To be fair he only had two months to get into shape and unless your on steroids your not going to get a lot of muscle in that time frame.
shareDanny is skinny as hell in the comics. He's not suppose to be some weight lifter. Dude looked toned to me.
