Looks far too generic

We've seen this all before in Daredevil. There's nothing interesting about Danny Rand other than a... glowing "Iron Fist". Big step down from Bulletproof Black Man in America, a rape victim or an addicted vigilante.

The tone also doesn't match the universe. What's the point making it lighter and goofier when this corner is meant to be for darker and more serious characters/themes.

The main villain should have been Steel Serpent not The Meachums.

Shang-Chi would have been a far more interesting character to make a show on. You could have had something similar to Infernal Affairs.

Madame Gao is clearly pulling the Meachum strings. Meachum hires Steel Serpent, and they hint towards him in the trailer anyway.

Shang-Chi's coming after the Defenders.

It's just the trailer. His family is dead, his best friends are douches, his uncle figure is evil, his only family friend left is also an evil shrew, and there's the ever looming cult of undead ninjas. There's plenty of darkness ahead.

The Emperor has no clothes.

So you think shang chi is coming in iron fist season 2 if there is one

I'm not sure Lewis Tan isn't playing Davos... I don't see why they'd bring in Zhou Cheng in a first season. Wouldn't make sense.

The trailer's grown on me. At first, I was of the same mind as you. But I'll Give Scott Buck the benefit of the doubt and hope he created a complex character.

I think it'd be cool if they teased Zhou for multiple years. Like he only appears in the background of multiple seasons, maybe getting a few random lines like the homeless lady in Sons of Anarchy.

And the other thing to consider is the nature of Danny's skills and how they are acquired.

Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones were in accidents and gained their powers as an unexpected consequence. Luke Cage was experimented on against his will to a certain extent.
In contrast, Danny is forced into a situation and then has to train, and earn his skills with a decade of training. He also then has to earn the iron fist.
I think that focusing on that is interesting.
One could argue daredevil earned his martial art skills too through training with stick and maybe they can bond over that...
