Jesse Eisenberg in the lead role ? FAIL.
that dude from the 70's show as an annoying cia executive ? FAIL.
whoever directed this movie and took the big decisions paid the price as the movie flopped.
this movie would have actually worked better in the hands of Seth Rogen and James Franco - these guys are actual stoners and produce much more laughter then the armatures who made this movie.
But it also needed a much better script. I like Max Landis and all, but EVERY character talks just like him. He pulled a Diablo Cody where the writer's voice is so prominent in all the dialog (and not in the cool Tarantino way either).
But I agree with you, had they just recast those three main roles and kept the same script it would have been so much better.

I wasn't particularly turned off by any of the casting. Eisenberg wasn't playing a career soldier. He was just some teenager who got experimented on and had to deal with the results years later. It made sense when you consider the background.
