Bad

Just finished watching this and I really enjoyed it, the way the movie was set up made them pretty much a perfect cast, a stoner that slowly realises that he's trained. You don't want an action star that doesn't know he's in an action movie, it needs to be the other way around and it works here.

There are stoner tropes of course but it's a small part of the overall story and bond between the two main characters, which surprisingly, was the best part of the movie and unlike your traditional romantic characters, actually felt genuine.

Mix in some zany comic book-type villains with a bit of an absurd overall plot not unlike Austin Powers/Kingsman and you have one surprisingly entertaining movie if you take it only half seriously.

I must say that the first 2.5 minutes doesn't feel all that promising, just a lame presentation with the quick flashbacks that spoils some of the suspense in the movie, with the references throughout the movie played up a bit too obviously at times with no real payoff but otherwise very enjoyable. Surprised at the IMDB 6.1, I'd put it at least a point higher on the IMDB scale if I were to rate it.
