Is it as terrible as it seems 2 minutes in?

ok, so, I have not watched this movie. I saw 2 minutes and 20 seconds, and from that it looks like it's aimed at stoners and people who think Michael Bay makes good movies.

Am I mistaken? Is it actually worth watching?

Looks like just such a waste of time.

reply

Yes, Michael Bay style story, if not so spectacular stunts.

Engaging enough while you watch it, as long as you don't think about how little sense it makes, and forgettable.

i thought this movie was just supposed to be comedy about 2 stoners as well but i was pleasantly surprised that it's not that at all. the stoner parts of the movie total about 3 minutes and the rest of the film is actually a really good Bourne-ish action/comedy/thriller (i know those 3 genres together sound impossible but it actually works here. lol). i was shocked at how good this movie turned out to be.

hmm, might stick it out for 20 mins and see how I feel

I enjoyed it very much! Fun, action, love & laughter!
What more do you want! Mike & Phoebe are tender and loving.
Don't take things so seriously, dudes!!

You forgot the love.
Stoner, action, comedy, love story.

Mike, "I'm going to save my girlfriend."

And, somehow fit in, Apolo Ape....lol

Was funny enough to be a comedy, wasn't able to take it seriously enough to be some kind of action film. Don't really know what the people who liked it thought was so good about it.

Reviewed the film here. Trying to start a fun, informative youtube channel so if you take a look, I hope you like it.

I was just about to turn this off, too. The mellow, whiny Jesse Eisenberg I can't handle. The first minutes are so weak.

Thanks to this thread tho, I stuck with it! This movie is another beast all together compared to the opening. Many hilarious characters and scenes in there. I still cant't stand Eisenberg tho.

E: Kristen Stewart was a pleasant surprise, she's a natural infront of camera. I have honestly never seen her in anything, and my expectations wasn't high due to all the haters.

I definitely didn't understand the humor in this movie. I did like the proposal and the ending (hotel scene) could have made a good movie.

Spoiler alert above...ha
The comedy,IMO, was the characters. The slow minded stoner, non violent lover of Phoebe. Of course having anxieties made him vulnerable with not your typical responses to people trying to kill him...like who knows what that's like living in a small town.
Then we have the girlfriend, Phoebe, who loves him so much even tho he has these problems.
And, Apollo Ape with Spicy Tomato the cause of the resistance! :::laughing::: As Phoebe says, "I love them"...
Well, I love this.
