American Ultra Flopped in American, but...

Yes, I will admit I over-estimated the impact Kristen Stewart would have on the American box office... as the numbers are dismal. But will this hold true at the Foreign box office where Kristen Stewart is much more popular? I guess only time will tell...

Here is what we know... The movie didn't bomb because of Kristen Stewart. This is proven (not just an opinion) in the fact that I couldn't find one critic who slammed the movie - also slam Kristen. In fact, the greater majority of the critics wrote that Kristen Stewart was the best thing in the movie... and the chemistry between Kristen and Jesse was SPOT on.

We also know that other actors and actresses who are either incredible at their craft and/or highly popular also have flops, so this is something that happens regardless. It has always been my belief that an actor or actress requires the right vehicle in order for box office success... what I was wrong about was thinking this was the right vehicle.

And here is another thing we know... and only the haters won't admit it. Kristen Stewart is a great actress. Yes, she has proven this... which really bugs the haters to no end, and the ones who post the same standard things over and over since Twilight regarding her facial expression cannot be taken seriously, for their agenda (for whatever reason) will always fabricate and ignore the truth in order to spew their lies.

Now, what I will speculate on is whether or not American Ultra will make their money back - and the answer to this is YES. Obviously not because of any America numbers, but the foreign numbers will help save the day and then some. Oh... and I base this on a $30 million dollar budget - so that means I still believe it will make at least $75 million at the foreign box office.

Could I be wrong - sure... but what I'm not wrong about is the fact that Kristen Stewart is here to stay, so she'll continue to piss off her haters. Her success is their misery, plain and simple - and for that I wish they'd go seek professional help for.

For she is Kristen Stewart... hear her rrrrrrrrroooaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr

Stewart showed no fear in the scary scenes and no emotion in all the others . Are actors not supposed to let us feel their experience . Stewarts moves are never dissected as any other actors who face critics . I never read a scene by scene description of her moves like critics do to others. Her PR team is flawless , she is a true Hollywood product.

Here is how I interpret your response...

Obviously, Kristen showed all the emotion she should have otherwise the critics would have torn her apart... and didn't. So, here's what I think...

Given I watched the movie I saw a very emotional response throughout and the fact that your statement is utterly ridiculous on all counts, I would guess you didn't see the movie. You don't like her... why would you go and watch the film? You are just saying you saw it to put merit on what you say, but all you really did was make a fool out of yourself and show your true colors as a hater.

...and please, have a clue. Are you really insinuating that Kristen Stewart has a PR team so powerful that they can STOP critics from criticizing her...?

Haters are so transparent... like I said - haters ignore the facts and spew their fabrications and opinions based on their agenda.

actually, quiet a few critics mentioned her flaws-did you read all 100 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes-I just read a few and three mentioned her limits.
It seems youre obsessed with her, probably attracted to her so your opinion is questionable.
The movie failed because of everything-no interest in story, weak performances, bad marketing, no draw form leads, etc.
And no amount of "I love her"s will change that.

I would have thought Robert p fans would be posting nonstop about his rising star award instead of talking about Kristen.

I also wonder about the selective amnesia while bringing up American ultra BO. Did they forget about the rover BO? or cosmopolis? Or MTTS? You could add the box office of all three films and it still wouldn't equal the BO for American ultra.

You need to stop obsessing over Kristen and her fans. You are following us around and stalking her. Stay on RPattz boards' and you won't even see us. Focus on Rpattz' career since you are his fan and Kristen's work, behavior, etc. upsets you so much. Trolling is not good for you.

I'm more concerned about you. Is the person you are in a relationship with aware of your unhealthy behavior and stalking tendencies?

Shes not a great actress-shes actually quite terrible. I don't hate her-I just think she stinks and has yet to prove otherwise.
She was only in hit movies because Twilight was an established brand that millions of teen girls would have went to if Melissa Mccarthy played the lead.
She won't be in any more hit movies unless its a brand name already.
Foreign BO isn't good either for this so far

Whether she is or isn't a great actress is based on opinion. What gives opinion merit is where the person is in the Industry. Given you are just a pion, trolling around on the Internet, your opinion has no merit.

Because I'm a kind person, I'm going to educate you on who's opinions do carry merit.

1) The critics (who have all overwhelmingly hailed Kristen Stewart's performances this past year as superb.

2) The Directors (who have nothing but incredible respect for Kristen Stewart for bringing her A game all the time. Haters will take advantage of this opportunity to show their true colors... so, go ahead and don't disappoint.

3) Fellow actors, who all think Kristen is a tremendously talented actress.

And finally, who's opinion simply doesn't matter...? The haters...

Now onto your pathetic attempt to contribute Kristen's success in getting work because of Twilight... What is your reason for the 20+ films she was in prior to Twilight? You are just plain ill... go seek help.

And you don't know what the foreign box office numbers are... nobody does until a few weeks... so please have a clue.

Kristen did well in her AU role, got very good reviews. Jesse did well also. The movie, so far, hasn't done well. I don't think it was billed as a big movie so expectations seem to be overly high for it, but it has under performed so far which may change in coming weeks and from overseas BO.

1) the critics opinions don't matter in terms of BO more often than not-the movie has a 44%-that's not too bad, but didn't help the *beep* BO take.
2) the directors who sleep with her and ruin their marriages? OK-shes a hot piece of ass to some, but not a BO draw anymore-that will limit her hiring-that's how the industry works
3) fellow actors? STFU=-you haven't spoken to any of them and in press kits they all praise each other of course (hint-theyre paid to promote the movie dumb sheit!)

Foreign box office predictions are almost always accurate (hint-I work at a studio, idiot) so I do in fact know them-they're low. You do know that movie's that have "American" in the title generally fail in foreign markets, right?

American Ultra only cost $12 million to make plus another estimated $15 - $20 million in marketing so while it probably will lose money, it won't be a huge drain on Lionsgate (even though they are a pretty small studio).

You don't understand what an indie is. And indie is not based on budget. But how it was funded. Magic Mike 2 vwas made for under $20 million but was not an indie.

It actually cost $28 million.

Yeah, I was taking that $12 million cost from Box Office Mojo and they changed it about a week later. $28 million makes far more sense. Some people are certainly losing a ton of money off of this.

So far it has to make $71,046,179 more to reach that goal. 

The OP made a mistake. She said Kristen Stewart is a GREAT actress. That's pushing it too far. She's average at best. I feel her performance in Snow White and the Huntsman to be her worst, as I have not seen any of the Twilight films.

Her best performance is when she's frozen in Zathura.

JK its Still Alice, she's pretty good in that one.

Yeah she's pretty terrible. I don't know how anyone can state that she's "a great actress". I have a friend who claims that she was good in The Runaways, but that is largely based on her bias towards the subjects. I've never seen Kristen Stewart give a performance that would prompt me to proclaim her to be a great, or for that matter even good, actress.
