Kristen Stewart can never leave Drama

I love Kristen Stewart, but in a pot head movie with Jesse Eisenberg is just a bad mix. I also did not like Adventureland. She is trying too hard to distance herself from Twilight. It's what made her and why people love her. Just be dark and serious, no reason to try to "prove" yourself as an actress. Even though I thought this was an entertaining movie, it's nothing that I'll consider seeing again and it has nothing to do with Kristen Stewart. There is nothing she could have done to make this movie a classic. Just not what makes her great. Dark, mysterious, and serious... is her forte. Stick with that.

She made Adventureland before TWILIGHT.

Like Twilight, Adventureland is a drama.

She is the first American woman to win a Cesar award.

For a drama.

I never once implied she did adventure land to distance herself from twilight. It's just a movie some people use to say she can escape what made her great in Twilight. Let's not fool ourselves, adventure land is not what made Kristen Stewart a superstar. I love her as an actress and want to see more of her in those roles.

You are wrong. The reason she is hated so much is because of Twilight. She needs to distance herself from those films as much as possible. She's actually a decent actress outside of those films.

Disagree. Never liked her in anything else. Her role in Twilight is the only reason the majority of people like her. She plays that dark, innocent, dramatic role perfectly. It's what fits her. And it's hilarious how you say people hate her for Twilight yet Twilight made over $3 billion worldwide. Obviously people didn't mind her role there.

I think you're definitely right about that. And it's a shame, really. I'm not saying Stewart is Meryl Streep, but I think she's a very good actress who regularly rises above her material (as in American Ultra). And when she's cast in great material, like The Clouds Of Sils Maria, she really shines.

A lot of the people who love her for Twilight (fans of the Twilight books), love her for the character she was playing as much as for her "dark and serious" performance. These people won't necessarily love her as much when she plays "dark and serious" in other films.

The Twilight movies didn't really interest me and I should watch them sometime anyway. Just thought I would say the every film I've seen her in has been really good. Especially the smaller indies she has been in.(think like Camp X-ray) There is a reason she is an A-list celebrity and everybody wants to work with her.

This an American Ultra thread. Camp X-Ray was her at her finest. Dark and intense. She plays that role best. She's never done well in romantic comedies or whatever you call this movie. I love her in serious movies.

IMHO, KS was bad in Twilight and Snow White, but good in Adventureland and ok in American Ultra.
