... he killed Charles?

I did, for at least a second or two.

I even think it might’ve been intentional - we’re meant to think Logan was mercy-killing Charles to protect him from the memory of having killed the other X-Men.

I did indeed. And I say that was unequivocally the impression they wanted to give viewers. But even after it turns out it actually isn’t Logan, the scene becomes no less shocking.

Sad but powerful scene.
