I'm curious about who the woman was that Michael Caine visited in the hospital (the one gaping out the window) does anyone know that story?

If you pay attention to what he says to her it can only be his wife.

He actually uses her name in his speech. Her name, Melanie, is mentioned in Lena's earlier speech.
