what she said
My theater's sound was lousy. Can someone summarize for me the tete a tete between Dano and Miss Universe? I simply missed it.

shareJimmy Tree made what at first seemed like just "small talk", but his last remark -if thought about carefully- was really a sort of insult, essentially implying she was an airhead fangirl who never did anything serious or intellectual. After a few seconds she came back with a rather lengthy reply which: a) showed that she fully understood the veiled insult, b) implied she wasn't affected (or at least chose to "let it pass"), c) insulted him back in a more sophisticated way, and d) did a little "on the fly" Freudian analysis of him which was not complementary.
Jimmy Tree then stuck out his hand to shake hands again (implying a termination of the chat?), but she refused to shake his hand and just walked off.
Fred Ballinger of course overheard the entire exchange since he was sitting right there, and immediately after she left commented to Jimmy Tree "Miss Universe is not stupid".
Thanks much. Wish I had heard it in the theater. Sounds like some very good dialog.
shareIn sum, from memory;
him: do you see something other than reality tv?
her: I appreciate irony but not when it comes filled with poison...
him: why?
her: because it reveals personal frustration... do you like what you do? I love being Miss Universe...
him: (beaten look)
That's what I heard.
