You'd think the US would know that the UK is not their "oldest and strongest ally".
Morocco is the US's oldest ally and was the first nation to sign a treaty with the USA.
France has a pretty strong claim too.
Both well ahead of the UK whose relationship with the US has only really been sort of 'strong' since WW2.
