Quit Your Whining...
This movie never presented itself or proclaimed to be a thought-provoking, intricately written treatment of the war on terror. It also never pretended to be a plausible story about an elaborate terrorist takeover of a major city.
That being said, the terror attacks in Paris went on for some time, and the attackers had their run of major public venues for more than just a few minutes. Even in the U.S., the most recent nightclub attack by a lone gunman spanned several hours. So this movie's narrative wasn't ludicrous, just a bit over-the-top in action and story line.
Take the movie for what it was, a fun, entertaining action film serving as mild diversion for audiences.
The movie did at least show how drone strikes leave the U.S. with unclean hands in terms of civilian casualties and of the terrorist mentality that they've been provoked into the violence by U.S. action. Nice speech by the VP Morgan Freeman regarding how doing nothing won't work in the violent brutal world of today.
