Where is the British army?

Serious question. I'm almost an hour in and I just had to pause it because I'm face-palming at this point. It's obvious at least a few hours has passed and you're telling me the British military hasn't been mobilized and moved in? That's just ridiculous. I know it's for the sake of plot, but still. Surely the British army is faster than that. In fact the Irish Guard is stationed in London.

Longish conversation halfway through in the Met police control center with a British Army General of some sort where they decide bringing the Army in will make London like Fallujah.

The scene where they come up with the air raid siren, so all police, fire, ambulance and everyone else goes home. Never explained what is supposed to fill the gap. So/also:
- SAS is Army.
- There are presumably lots of Injured people from random gunfights, car chases, auto accidents as well as the explosions. They all just die?
- There are fires burning. I guess they burn out of control?

Etc.

I know. And the moment the President was under attack, the US Air Force base nearby, where Air Force One landed, would have dispatch fighter jets.

You were probably out taking a leak during that scene, but Air Force One landed at Stansted Airport. Not sure what Air Force base you're talking about - do you?

RAF Lakenheath probably

This movie is stupid and treated its viewer like garbage. It shouldn't even be supported at any cost but hell, people still spent money on this any way. Good thing I pirated this crap.

If you had paid attention, authorities had been mobilized immediately. However, the terrorists had infiltrated the ranks(including a mole in the command center) and were ambushing legitimate soldiers(and other city workers like police, firefighters, etcetera) thus why they came up with the plan to run the air raid siren and evacuate the city. I believe they said something to the effect of "Whoever is left still running around London after that would be the bad guys.".

LOL! That terrorist mole has got a lot to answer for. It's an OK action flick, but the storyline was clearly drafted out on a cigarette paper. 🐭

I find the reaction by the Met and Army quite insulting to Londoners. I live in Belfast. Our 'Troubles' here spread to London. 7/7 rocked, but didn't break, London. This film acts like Londoners aren't hard as nails. This is a city that didn't hide after 7/7. The streets didn't empty.
In 'Olympus Has Fallen' the military were on the scene immediately; forgetting/ignoring/not realising 'Posse Comitatus' exists. The British Army would've been there in minutes. The met wouldn't have cowered from a hundred, a thousand 'rogue agents' (there's roughly 31,000 active officers in the Met). I loved the quieter moments in this film. But they acted like the UK wasn't used to terrorism. Wasn't equipped to react. And frankly- that's ****ing ***sh*t.
