Very confused!
So I watched this movie and I think the only time I thought there were funny moments was at the part where Gummi looked miserable standing in 2nd place next to Kiddi who was in 1st place. Then at the end of the movie, I thought it was a little comical how long that scene lasted, but none of these moments even made me chuckle, maybe a slight smile.
Now, I know this was labeled as a comedy (though I know it wasn't a slapstick and obvious comedy!) well "dark comedy", but I found this movie to be almost 90% drama/tragedy. There were a lot of seriously sad moments!
I guess this is all one very strange leadup to my question. I want to understand what moments are supposed to be funny, aside from the two obvious ones I mentioned. I know different cultures have different things, different subtleties that make them unique, so what in this film is seen as a funny thing in Iceland?
Overall, I really liked this film, even though I found it to be super sad and tragic.
