Something that we would want but it's not sure thing

The hopes of getting this movie made are either inevitable or it will just be scrapped. Couture had said almost every year that will be filmed a certain time but never reaches that year. Stallone would be another problem since he once walked away from this but returned, however he wants to do projects of his desire (Rambo 5, Samaritan, ect) and Arnold is reluctant to return as well.
There was a rumor on the internet at the beginning of 2020 that Stallone was going to take a backseat and Jason Statham was going to take the lead, but Stallone and Arnold were still involved. Is it too late or is Covid-19 holding it up?
I just fee that this is just a pipe dream and a boxing match too many. Not sure that the audience is still so receptive and in the mood for this franchise after so many years have passed since the last movie. It may be time to move on, especially since Sly is not getting any younger and still prioritizing his personal projects over a fourth movie.
