it's a 1984 adaptation... with Kirsten Stewart and some pretty boy young actor. Let's comitt mass suicide everybody

This is not an adaptation of 1984, it is a love story, in the setting of 1984.

Wait, it's a sci/fi romance movie set in the year '1984'?

What are they gonna do, sprinkle some radio shack parts around and have Stewart looking confused and then her prince charming can swing in and call it science?

1984 is a dyspopian novel, if you've ever heard of 'the Big Brother' there's where it comes from. But yeah it is not a remake or based on.

No way this is a remake. Its probably some teenage crap to deal with the hardest and biggest romance ever. And it will definately fail in the critics eyes, but it will make millions.

No, it's not. The director has already denied the rumour that the film has anything to do with 1984. It's not based on 1984; it's a completely different story.
