Fiction
Everybody keeps saying how this movie copies a bunch of others, and combines them, that's called derivative fiction and it's how it works. You take something old like say, Romeo and Juliet and you make it your own. Same with Equilibrium. You can hate the movie all you want, but it combines those themes that its "stolen" from other movies and works, and makes it it's own thing. That's why we have things like fan fiction and crossovers, and movies that "copy" the theme of other movies. And personally, you may say I have bad taste, but I actually liked it.
