Have these writers even met a 'millennial'? Millennials don't constantly talk about how they're millennials, they don't bring up "how young we are" in every other sentence. And they sure as hell don't dress like that in a professional work environment.

I get why the writers are exaggerating the age thing, but I pretty much agree with you that it's overkill. There really isn't a need to bang the viewers over the head with the show's theme over and over. At some point, the viewers get it. lol

Yeah, unless someone were to ask my age or something, I like never talk about it lol. It's fine in the context of the show, but sometimes they go overboard with it. I don't really know anybody who mentions how young they are in every other sentence. Sometimes they talk more teenagers than twenty-somethings.
sharePeople out in the world talk about their age rarely if at all! The writers make the younger generation look absurdly self-obsorbed and idiotic, and they make the "older" generation look absurdly out of touch and idiotic...so...nobody wins. Except for Charles and Maggie who are awesome.
shareThey make too big of a deal about the age thing. She herself isn't very far out of the millennial years. I've seen it before as early as '76 or '77. She was born in '75. If anything she's a young gen-Xer.
It would be funny to introduce some more gen-Zers (her daughter's age) into the story. Gen-Z in already in their early '20s. To them the millennials are old and out of touch.

Kinda OT, but apparently millennials are too lazy to make cereal. It seems that it's too much effort to pour milk and then clean the bowl afterward.

I do enjoy the show. It's got good writing. But yes this is my main criticism of it. They constantly bring up their age!! What is with that? When I was in my 20s, I do not recall saying on a routine basis oh I am 25 and blah blah blah. I definitely don't think women do that. Even in their 20s, I don't think age is thrown around this much. Heck maybe I am wrong and behind the times. But I don't think I am.
shareYou're definitely not wrong. The overuse of millennial/age references is the only thing I hate about the show. There are a lot of things about the show that make up for it like the funny moments and the interesting story and characters, which make it worth watching
