This movie has no center

As in, the center did not hold, paraphrasing from W.B Yeats poem, The Second Coming.

In spite of the grand scenes of a drowning city, the movie had no soul, characters walking through their lines as in a first reading, uninteresting female lead in Mae (Rebecca Ferguson), unconvincing actor in Nick (Hugh Jackman), predictable action scenes. Or it could be the script, or the direction. It was something, but it wasn't good.

It did have the hot Thandiwe Newton, and I kept waiting for Nick or Thandiwe to jump the other's bones. That would have, at least, spiced things up.

As Dennis Miller would say, "That's just my opinion. I could be wrong."
