There seems to be a perpetuation of the myth that he was somehow left handed. Type in 'kurt cobain was right handed' and the message blob at the top says, incorrectly, that he was a lefty.

Kurt did literally everything with his right hand. He wrote with his right hand, in Montage of Heck with reel footage of him as a toddler, he would play toys with his right hand (while holding guitar with his left). In an interview by Nardwuar, he was holding his slice of pizza with his right hand. Or the poster with him holding a gun with his right hand. He would use his right hand for pretty much everything, even writing.

The only thing he did with his left hand was literally playing the guitar. That's it.

go look it up. he's a full-blown rightie. Which is too bad. he'd be cooler if he were a fellow lefty. oh well.

Neurologically it's odd. I'd argue very improbable, that you would do one single activity with your opposing dominant hand while doing the rest with your dominant one.

Again, I'm not saying he was 'faking' his use of left hand. When he was a toddler we can see him instinctively using his left hand for the guitar.

But the vast majority of ambidextrous people have an mash up of both hands, equally. not just doing one single thing with your opposite hand and doing the rest with your main hand.

Being purely anecdotal to substantiate this oddity; my father is ambidextrous (can write with both hands,naturally, without training). But for physical activities he prefers his right hand. But when he eats he strictly uses his left. I think most ambi's have a bit of both.

I agree about the black/white false dichotomy of hand dominance. BUT if we measure the degrees of activities shown by him. He did everything with his right-hand except sole exception: guitar. Fascinating neurochemistry, nevertheless. So he's right-handed.

Also, for fun. It looks like his eyes were also right-dominant:

Im not an expert, but from everything I have read and seen Kurt appears to be right handed and only played guitar with his left. I forget where, but I read an article years ago that mentioned that Kurt chose to play left handed simply because it was more difficult.The article also speculated that this could have been the cause of his mysterious stomach pains, as years of playing with his non dominant hand and the weight of the guitar might have caused spinal problems that could have been corrected if he had played right handed.
