COMMON SENSE QUESTION - SPOILER ALERT

I just got done binge-watching Zoo (I liked the series) and I have a question. When the jet crashed due west of the wall, why didn't the military scramble some helicopters? I mean, think of it. The razorbacks would never stand a chance against a helicopter's mini-gun or chain gun system and the people would be brought back to the wall in a matter of minutes. So much for common sense!!!

Yeah, those were my thoughts exactly. Some things didn't make a whole lot sense, but I still miss this show. I couldn't believe it when I got to the end of season 2 and found out that was all there was!

I think at that point, they talked how there's so few of them (soldiers) left. Perhaps none of the remaining people could fly? I don't remember seeing any choppers just before or after that.
