NYC New Year's Eve
As one who has been in the Times Square area hours before New Year's Eve, it looks nothing like the street scenes in the movie. It's wall to wall people, penned in, shoulder to shoulder, cops everywhere, no taxis or cars allowed anywhere on the street, etc. The idea that she can get near the Times building with the "ball"on top is just ludicrous.
Why didn't she just make a phone call? Movie stunk, it's no 3 Days of the Condor
