What decade was this suppose to be?

I think it was suppose to take place in the 1970s but I’m not sure.

It shifts all the time, along with the season, as the director intended. Old TVs with black and white films, but reading books on a seashell Kindle.

It exists outside of time. My guess would be that it goes with the movie's central theme--surviving sexual abuse, i.e., no matter how much time passes, the victim of sexual abuse is trapped in a state of being oblivious to time.
