Part of the charm of the film is its ambiguous era. Everything looks very outdated, the tv are extremely old, but they have internet. The sister has her clamp thing that acts like a tablet.
shareI think Yara was a friend, not sister. But that clam thing was weird. I've never seen a 'kindle' that small or stylized.

The film reflects a recurring nightmare that the director had. Nightmares distort times & places and normal ebb & flow of life. This film is a nightmare imo.

shareNone. Its set in a fictional time that mixes technology & style primarily from 70s, 80s and 2000s in order to have a retro feel like John Carpenters Halloween (including synthesizer music). There are things that could not have existed back then like the Tablet thing and cars from the 2000s, and theres other things that are from the 60s & 70s like the old sodas and old cereal boxes which kids today wouldn't have unless they were extreme hipsters.
