when I watch the Crucifixion of Jesus scene, I had no idea that the film was about Jesus Christ. I thought thee were thousands of people during Crucifixion of Jesus. in the film, there were max 50. so Jesus was not an important&influencing figure before Crucifixion?
shareMaybe the producers couldn't afford a huge crowd. The Gospels don't say there were "thousands". If that had been the case, Pilate would have quashed it immediately, and probably have crucified many more people than just the three mentioned in the Gospel stories. Also, this was the eve of the Sabbath with which the Passover coincided, so most of the population would have been at home doing the preparations, and only the few involved in Jesus trial and death would have been at the crucifixion site.
