first "sony production" i saw which is looking like a fan fiction movie

usualy, when i saw the big titled "sony" before the opening titles, i said myself "super, there will be a super production wellgood directed without a failure in the cinematic".
But this one, it is ùmy first! so sad, Risen really looks like a fan ficntion movie like you can see many of them on Utube!.
what is append to sony, why release such unfinished (or too-quicked directed) movie ?
A year ago, i saw a tv telesuit (The Red tent), also a "biblic movie" which was really better directed whereas it is a TV production budget.
So, Risen failed to please me.
