Binge watching, on Season 2, but I'm struggling...

Do they ever stop playing so much music? I understand it's a show about part of the music industry, but there seems to be way too many recording/concert scenes that are way too long than there are actual acting scenes and that's excluding the scenes of the actors collaborating. Does it ever start to slack off from the music scenes and focus more on the actors dialogue? I'm spending more time fast forwarding through them than I am watching it and it's getting old because Hulu ff on my smarttv doesn't show what it ffwds through as it's moving so I have to rewind back. I'm really in to the story and I don't want to give up on it so hoping someone can give me some info.
