Andre was given the least attention

He attended a Family Dinner, and sat two seats from the woman who killed his child and his wife?

Wow.

From what I remember, only Lucious knows that Anika pushed Rhonda down the stairs. When Rhonda ran in the room and punched Anika last season, everyone ran to Anika's defense. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Also, Andre saw the fall, so perhaps he saw that Anika didn't do it on purpose. I mean, he did help her pretty quickly when her water broke. He's also the "religious" one, and on top of that he has mental issues, so a lot can be said for Andre's reaction.

But overall, you're right. I expected them to show a little more - of him contacting Rhonda's parents or planning her funeral or something. (Maybe this will be saved for later episodes.)

I also just remembered that Rhonda killed Vernon, so I wonder if this will be mentioned in any way.

Good point, i was thinking the same thing Anika killed Rhonda, i couldnt really hear what Luscious was saying in Anika ear. I just head something about going along with the story, then when the baby was a girl Luscious said you lied to me.

Andre.....i truly felt sorry for and he needed some attention i thought Cookie would be there for him.

It was like no one cared Rhonda died lol. She was a pretty central character thus far.

reply

Right? It was so off that no one, aside from Andre, seemed to give a damn that she died especially since Lucious and Jamal was RIGHT THERE when landed on the roof of that car. Literally, RIGHT THERE not a few feet from the car!!! It seemed like everyone moved on with their lives and she wasn't mentioned again until the last season with Andre having a breakdown.

It was just bizarre how the family reacted to her death.

Jamal seemed shaken to me. Cookie tried to be there for Andre. Everyone else was just like, "Oh, well."

But Andre said "You killed my wife!" He clearly saw what she did. Maybe e was at the dinner for appearances but there's only so far you can go.

reply

I think Andre's story-line was given the best opening. He will probably have one of the most intriguing storylines this season if things go the way I imagine. He just did not need too much exposure this first episode.

reply

THEE cliffhanger was... who fell? We fins out its Ronda and it's glossed over like the maid died. No funeral, no mention of her parents, nada

reply

I know right I was thinking the same thing like when is the funeral, no one was crying over Rhonda besides Andre, Cookie kept telling him he need to talk to his pastor but why can't Cookie be there for him. At least Jamal offered to have Andre stay at his place to make sure he was alright.

reply

Agreed! I just have a feeling there is more to come. And that's not the last that we see ghost-Rhonda.

reply

Unless Rhonda gets laid to rest in second episode, nobody gave a damn about her death and that's fvcked up. The show already did two funerals, so they can at least give Rhonda one.

Clark's destiny = Superman, LL &LL.

reply

Out of respect for the actress. She was an important character throughout the show's run. It wasn't like Juanita the maid died.

reply

Were those funerals for black characters or white characters? Rhonda was the token white character and now she's gone nobody cares.

reply

Black.

Clark's destiny = Superman, LL &LL.

That would be extremely classless not to have a funeral for Rhonda. They need to do better than this. I hope they will.

The character of Rhonda was complex and would be hard for an actress to pull off. Kaitlin Doubleday killed it. Her scenes with Trai Byers were intense. They are both so talented and worked off each other well.
