I don't particularly have an issue with this. The guy is talented and has brought some great music, but his work on Empire has been ridiculously underwhelming. It's hard to think of one song that is actual quality. So I'm cool with him moving on. Maybe it leaves the door open for someone to swoop in and create music that is actually good and makes it easier to believe that these artists live up to their supposed hype on the show.
shareGood. 90% of the music he produced was trash, even if I understand that producing smash song after smash song at that pace might be hard, but Boom Boom was just offensive to my ears and that was supposed to be showcasing why Lucious is such a legend in Empire's world.
Let's hope Rodney Jenkins is a better choice.

Yeah I would love to see Rodney Jerkins get some shine again, he is a great producer. If this show was about that soulful sounding R&B I would suggest Babyface or Diane Warren. share
Well Tim's sound always worked best for himself, Aaliyah, Missy, and Justin Timberlake. I got bored with Empire's music way back to Season 1. Only one that consistently sounds good is Jussie Smollett.
But whoever has taken over now so far ain't that much better. I was laughing my ass off during the scene last night with Xzibit and the youngest Lyon boy in the studio, but that song was sh-t!
maybe they could produce better songs with a team of producers instead of one.

shareI agree also. the timberland songs were good. Before seeing this post I kind of felt the music had changed. When Shyne(Xzibit)spun that track in the studio for Hakeem it was very obvious. Had too much of a Chronic Like vibe to it. My first thought was Dr Dre.
