The song that Kitty and Jamal sang

Most of the time, none of them are singing live on the show.

It being great is your view and that's fine. But obviously others disliked it or didn't think it was great. Just because they felt differently does not mean they are wrong. I know that people often get offended when others may not like a song from a star that they like i get that feeling with you and mariah. You seem to be personally offended when someone says they didn't think it was great. She was before my time but I have heard and do like some of her songs however that does not mean that i will automatically be impressed by a song just because she sings it. Just like i am not impressed by every song jamal sings even though i absolitely love jamal as i think most people know he's my fave character ;) and the best singer and actor on the show. but there are still some songs of his that i don't think are great this duet being one of them. I will not automatically love an average song just because it is sung by someone i love. Also someone not liking a song does not mean that they are dissing the singers or that the singer is not beautiful. Really that point you made about her still being beautiful was absolutely pointless to the argument about the song not being good. She is beautiful but that has nothing to do with some people not liking the song.

You're right it all depends on people's taste. I agree that Mariah is beautiful and is still a good singer however that fact has nothing to do with the song she sung on empire. Yes she and jussie both sounded good and looked good singing together but despite all that the song fell flat for me. It didn't have that spark that powerful did again this is just my opinion it just didn't suit my tastes. It was too tame vocally if that makes sense. There was no real power in their vocals it was just an average song and average vocals for me. I like a good powerhouse vocal performance like powerful where both singers really showed off their powerful vocals and vocal range.

To put it in musical terms from musicians today the Mariah and jussie duet was more like a song you'd hear from selena Gomez with subtle quiet vocals and auto tune rather than something raw, strong and powerful like you'd hear from Adele. I like to be blown away by a song and this duet just didn't do it for me. Personally I prefer a real powerhouse song with raw vocals and powerful emotion that strikes a cord and makes me feel something rather than just an average song that just sounded okay.

But that's just me.
