Season 3 is lit and all i can say is andre, andre, andre. This is his season to shine and boy did he shine in last episode from letting out his inner thug and getting things poppin with nessa. Im loving this season.
shareI agree. Except for the decision to kill off Rhonda and letting Baby Killer get away with it, the show has been really good with the writing and characters.
The show went into a season two slump that happens to a lot of shows that have a good first season.
I like that Lucious has real enemies that challenge him. The Camille thing wasn't a real threat and it was overcome too quickly. Strangely, I don't really feel Lucious is a villain; he's just willing to do whatever he has to to survive and that goes with who the character is and the childhood he survived. He's a real rat bastard but he can't be any way but what he is.
What he and Frieda did to Jamal was foul, but what was worse was afterwards when Lucious was thrilled that Jamal was just like his daddy and did the dirty stuff daddy would do to achieve his ends. That was the unkindest cut of them all.
The only real weak link that remains is Hakeem. Both Andre and Jamal have strong stories. The show gave a PTSD story to Hakeem, last season, but it was dropped pretty fast. The one they're doing with Jamal is a lot better.
I still don't believe anika was the one to do it. I think she only said she was to be vicious but they never truly showed who pushed rhonda which still may make it a mystery. I seriously believe its a twist that will comeout later on and I agree that the way they killed of rhonda without a funeral or anything was foul, it goes to show you that the family really didnt think that much of her.

Each episode just keeps getting better than the previous one.

I had to rewatch the sex scene so I could just block rhonda out because I just wanted it to be them and I have to say, that was one the or the hottest sex scene on Empire. I had to immediately wake my husband up after that one for you know what, LOL.

Yes, I could tell that Lee Daniels was serious about the writing being better this season and he was right. Hopefully, the whole season will be consistent.
