You misread that scene badly. The point was to prove to Becky that she didn't know everything she thinks she does. The guy presented his argument to Cookie, and won. That showed he knew what he was talking about. He knew what Becky was up to and let her do herself in. Breaking the trust of an artist is a big deal, and every artist knows the record label is pulling the strings no matter what they hope. Tianna can pout about it, but she knows how the game is played. The dude stabbed Becky in the back, but that's the music business, people will always look out for their own best interests first.
