His characer is making great stride suddenly. I think his intention is to make Nessa into his own Cookie. He couldn't take over Empire with Rhonda, a white woman, by his side. But with Nesssa he has a chance. She's smart, black, and talented and he knows this.

Andre is a very smart guy and seems to have found something in Nessa. I am surprised though that he hooked up with her so soon after Rhonda died (or is Rhonda really dead?)
Nessa to me will make a good match for Andre to take over Empire together. She seems very smart and is a talented singer. Looks like Andre was quite taken by her beautiful voice.
The Andre story-arc is shaping up to be quite interesting. Shyne deserved every bit of the beating he got. The guy is too vicious.
Another good episode. Loved it.
I agree it's getting interesting -- although all the violence could be toned down. But it's out of character to all of a sudden be violent, or even to know how to land a punch.
shareWe certainly don't see Andre getting physical much nowadays, but I bet in his childhood and adolescence, he had to learn to scrap. The Lyons weren't rich yet when he was a kid, so you know he was living in a dicey area. He probably got into the typical fights that boys get into. I could even see Lucious encouraging that - he is so wrapped up in the stereotypical "masculine" image. "You gonna let that little punk disrespect you, son?" was probably a phrase that Andre heard from his dad on more than one occasion.
I could also see Andre throwing down to protect Jamal, like if someone was giving Jamal a hard time in school because of his perceived sexuality. He seems like he would be a protective brother, and they seem close.
Andre is the most interesting character this season. Im excited for what they have in store for him. I also enjoyed the character, he's complex and his delivery is awesome. It also doesn't hurt that the man is fine as hell.
shareAll I can say, I really like nessa and andre. I havent been this interested in a potential couple since season 1 when I thought luscious and cookie were going to be an item. They have chemistry and make for a very interesting pair.
