There is absolutely no excuse for a series like Empire to only use ethnic whites in minor and secondary roles.
OK this is purely a black business, and there are very story-driven reasons why that’s the case

Seriously, I'm white and I think that argument is ridiculous. For years white shows have been doing the same thing, so why shouldn't a black show be doing it. Tit for tat. White people don't have to be dominant in everything. With the exception of Rhonda, there's no reason for a white character to be prominent in this show.
A white character doesn't make this show; the black characters do. And like black people can watch and enjoy a predominantly white show white people can do the same thing with a predominantly black show.
