Tbh, alot of popular shows ratings are declining. The Walking Dead which is the number one show on tv ratings are declining big time from the premiere. I think alot of people are streaming more than doing cable.

With twd, it's kind of different because even at their lowest, the ratings are still high. I think the lowest this season was 10 million (tara episode), and 10 mill is still a lot of people. Their average ratings are somewhere between 11 to 12 million. The 17 million came from ppl who don't regularly watch but were curious about the hype over who was lucilled in the S7 Premiere. This sunday passed, he ratings went up some.

Ratings aren't determined by viewers, it's the demo that count. and by those standards the same thing you just said about TWD goes for Empire - "Even at their lowest, the ratings are still high."

TWD demo dropped big time just like Empire did so I'm not sure what the difference is??

If Empire's ratings are "tanking", How would you describe the other 20+ shows rating who can barely make it past 1.5??? LOL
That also mean that Designated Survivor, How To Get Away with Murder, Quantico, Scandal, Black-ish and pretty much every show on network television not named "BBT, Greys + This Is Us" are pretty much in the grave yard because of their ratings.

I'm sure every network executive would take Empire's rating from just last week ANY DAY, even with it "Tanking" by your standard. lol
