Andre wants Empire but he also wants to punish his family

Somewhere he blames them for what happened to his wife and child and he is out to get them

Also he seems to become more shady when he puts that hat on lol

Yeah, revenge may be part of it but honestly I think andre is doing what has always wanting to do and that is take charge.

I think he has reason to blame daddy Lucifer, since he's protecting the foul bitch that murdered both his wife and his child. Also, his family ignores him because he doesn't have any singing talent; that goes for Cookie as well as Lucifer. They only have a use for him when they've got a use for him. So I don't blame him.

Andre needs to recruit Becky, because Cookie has treated her like crap, too.

I agree that Cookie has not been as supportive of Andre as she has been with her other sons which I have found very disappointing.

IDK if Andre's education, lack of singing talent and marrying a white woman all made him seem like he had less in common with them. Cookie as mom should have been there for Andre as she was for Hakeem and Jamal. I think Cookie seriously dropped the ball with Andre and that's probably why Andre didn't have a hard time lying to her face and manipulating her into letting Nessa shadow Tiana.

You would think with Andre's illness, losing his baby and wife, Cookie would have been a very frequent visitor and source of support checking on him to see how he is coping. Nope, instead Jamal has been the one being there for him.

Terrible. I hope Andre rises to the top and puts them all in their place for having ignored him.

I think Andre recruiting becky would be a great idea since she is not appreciated either. THat would make for a great storyline. I agree with all you about andre. Andre is the black sheep of the family, they never truly respected him because he had no singing talent. Cookie only gives a damn about andre when she needs something. We all know how Luscious treated him.

I don't know what the writers have done with the Cookie character. In S1 she was written as the best mom, sacrificing a lot for her family, very caring and doing everything she can for her boys.

Since S2, they have written her character poorly and as a matter of fact, she seems to have lost most of the motherly nurturing characteristics she once had. The way Cookie has treated Becky, well and everyone else for that matter, has been very disappointing.

Becky is very talented and under-appreciated. It would be great to see her team up with Andre and bring the house down. That would be epic!!

Isnt Nessa going to need an AR? It would be cool if Becky could do it.

Minus Andre. She has never been a good mother to Andre. She didn't even care enough to go see him, he had to come to her and tell her how she could get a part of Empire. The only two sons she sought out were Jamal and Hakeem. I thought when she learned that Andre had bipolar disorder that would change, but it didn't. Jamal is her favorite and if Hakeem didn't havesome music ability I doubt she'd give him the time of day, either.

And while Cookie may be good at spotting someone with musical talent, she sucks at spotting someone who can spot music talent. She hired that know-nothing Xavier over Becky and you'd think she'd feel Becky cause Becky is in the same position she was when she first came back.

I agree. There was a scene in a prior episode where the company was hacked. Jamal was saying that this all felt so personal. That's because it really was. I believe that he's at the point where his family's feelings are becoming more and more meaningless to him. Maybe they deserve a bit of it for how they've neglected him, or maybe Andre working solely for his own interests is a bad thing which could ultimately tear apart his family and the company... I'm interested in seeing where they take new merciless Andre in the storylines.

It's ironic how in the earlier episode where his dad took them all to the old hood, Andre was yelling about how he'll never want to be anything like Lucious, and yet he proceeds to morph into his own composite of the man, complete with the underhanded tricks and mean-spirited behavior towards others.

IMO Andre's mean-spiritedness is more than warranted. Andre has been put down by his father over and over and I really do think he is resilient because he would have been completely broken down by now. It's about time Andre gave Lucious a taste of his own medicine.

In S1, Andre spent the entire time working his @ss for Empire helping raise money for his brothers to perform while lucious was talking down to him and treating him as if he wasn't of any value to the family if he didn't help raise funds. His father just didn't like him because of his bipolar and the fact that he married a white woman.

In S2 Andre dedicated his entire time fighting for his father's affection but got no where. All Lucious did was belittle him and told him how ashamed he was of him as a son because of his illness. Which loving father talks to his own son like that? Andre would give him good business advice and he would reject it just to hurt the poor boy only to turn around and use those same ideas as his own. It has been very sad to see how Lucious has treated Andre all this time. He even lied to him that his grandmother was dead and took him to a fake grave.

Lucious is the devil and I don't fault Andre at all for turning into his father and becoming devious.

After all, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Anika murdered his unborn child but not his wife. It was mutual combat that unfortunately took place on a ledge of a sky scraper.
